WTF's new brand and logoChoue shows his appreciation to Boyoung President

The World Taekwondo Federation adopted new brand and logo.

On June 23, the new brand and logo have been approved for use by the WTF General Assembly at the Muju National Sport Center.

Including the “World Taekwondo,” which represents the WTF, the new logo has been newly released for use beginning in the 2017 Muju World Taekwondo Championships on June 24.

With the new brand and logo, the WTF’s official website has changed from www.worldtaekwondofederation.net and www.wtf.org to www.worldtaekwondo.org.

The new logo has been designed with a kicking athlete, in the resemblance of the “T” in the “WTF”as a call for the organization’s heritage, that is colored as the five colors of the Olympic Flag.

At this day’s General Assembly, President Choue handed a plaque for appreciation to the WTF’s global partner Booyoung Group President Joong Keun Lee for his contribution to the development of taekwondo.

Moreover, Booyoung Group held its awarding ceremony to give scholarships to Djibouti, Nigeria, Bhutan, San Marino, Marshall Islands and Haiti for the taekwondo training programs.

The attendees of the General Assembly also took a moment of silence to mourn the recent passing of Grandmaster Wonkyu Uhm.

Meanwhile, the Championships will begin with its Opening Ceremony on June 24 at 4 pm in the T1 Arena, Taekwondowon.

This will be the second historic demonstration performance by both WTF and ITF, having already arrived through Gimpo International Airport on June 23. High-profile individuals of the international community including IOC Members Ung Chang (DPRK), Zaiqing Yu (PRC) and ASOIF President Francesco Ricci Bitti (Italy) are expected to attend the Opening Ceremony.
