The World Taekwondo Council presented an outline of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games and the inaugural Grand Slam Champions Series.
The WT Council have met at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 3 in London.
As the International Paralympic Committee(IPC) completed the number of participating athletes and detailed programs of the 2020 Summer Paralympics, the rule of taekwondo games was addressed.

72 Para Taekwondo athletes in K44(+K43) class will compete in three male weight categories(-61kg, -75kg, +75Kg) and three female weight categories(-49kg, -58kg, +58kg) in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games.
The members of National Association will have an automatic qualification right for the top 4 athletes in the K44 class in each man and woman, and the top 2 athletes in the K43 in each man and woman, under the 2020 Para Taekwondo World Rankings in January.
The K44 class, which includes more participants than K43, has assigned more automatic qualification rights, and the member of National Associations can get a total of 6 automatic qualification rights, up to three for in each man and woman weight categories. But it is not allowed to have over one in the same weight categories.
The Continent Qualification Tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics will be held from January to April 2020. The automatic qualification right is not allowed to the National Association, where have over two automatic qualification right in each of male and female.
The other competition, which was addressed, was the inaugural Grand Slam Champions Series which will be held every Saturday with one of each male and female weight categories in Chinese city Wuxi from December 30, 2017.
The qualification for the 2017-2019 Grand Slams is confirmed under the Grand Slams rules. The winner of the Rio 2016 Summer Games Olympics and 2017 World Taekwondo Championships in Muju will be seeded No. 1, 2, and 3.
The winner of the 2017 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final will be seeded No. 4, the winners of the 2017 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix series will be seeded No. 5, 6 and 7, and the 2017 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final’s winner will be seeded No. 8.
The No. 9-11seeds will be assigned to top three players in the WT G-1 Open Qualification Tournament for Wuxi 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions Series, which is scheduled for 23-24 November 2017 in Wuxi, China, as competitors, and the No. 12 seed will be assigned to the host country, China.
The Qualification Tournament is open to all players under the WT Competition Rules.
In addition, the champion of the Wuxi 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions will be seeded No. 1, the winner of the 2018 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final will be seeded No. 2, the winners of 2017 World Taekwondo Championships will be seeded No. 3-4, and the winner of 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio will be seeded No. 5.
In the case of an overlapping among the players of No. 1 to 8 seeds in winning multiple titles, other Olympic ranking top players, who have no automatic qualification right, will be assigned up to four.
The total prize money offered in each of the eight separate tournaments in the 2017-2018 series will be $800,000, and it will be awarded to the winner and coach.
The 2017 Grand Slam Team Championships also will be held.
The first and second place team of the 2017 World Taekwondo Team Championship in Abidjan; one team who will be recommended by World Taekwondo and four teams, including China will participate in the 2017 Grand Slam Team Championships on Saturday of the last week in January 2018.
WT President Chungwon Choue said the 1st World Taekwondo Beach Championships, which was held in Rhodes Island, Greece on May 2017, was officially listed for the Peace and Sports Awards 2017 in the category of this year.
As part of the opening ceremony of the championships, the biggest White Card campaign took place with players and attendees. The White Card campaign was to support for the peace through sport.
The Peace and Sport Awards Ceremony will take place on December 7, 2017 in Monaco.
In addition, Dr. Choue presented an appointment letter to new executive committee members and chairpersons. The Council also observed a moment of silence in memory of Un Young Kim, who is the former vice president of the IOC.
The next Council meeting will take place on 4 April 2018 in Hammamet, Tunisia on the occasion of the WT Qualification Tournament for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the 2018 World Taekwondo Junior Championships.
