2014 Incheon Asian Games gold medalist Yunfei GUO of China has qualified for the Wuxi 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Slam(Wuxi 2017), which has $7million prize money.
In the women’s under 67kg, Yunfei won a gold medal at the Open Qualification Tournament for WUXI 2017 on November 23.

Yunfei defeated Korea’s Da-bin Lee, 6 -3 in the quarter-final round, and she beat China’s Mengyu ZHANG at the Golden Point round in the semi-final.
In the final round, Yunfei defeated Korea’s Jan-di Kim. There was no clear winner until their round three, 2 -2, but Yunfei successfully grabbed the first point with her body kick at the Golden Point round and she won a gold medal.
Yunfei is going to compete in the women’s under 62kg at the Wuxi 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Championships, and she will be ninth-seeded.
Turkey’s lrem YAMAN, who is a 2017 Universiade gold medalist and bronze medalist of the Rabat 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 2, also had a qualification right for Wuxi 2017.
In the semi-final round, she defeated China’s Lijun ZHOU, who is 2016 World Taekwondo Junior Championships gold medalist, 9 -5, and she beat Korea’s Geum-byeol Lim, who won a gold at the 2015 World Championships, 1-0, in the final round. She also will be seeded No. 9 at the Wuxi 2017.
On the other hand, 250 players from 37 different centuries participated in the Open Qualification Tournament for WUXI 2017. The No. 9-11seeds will be assigned to top three players, a total of 23 players, in the Open Qualification Tournament.
