There was no thrilling in the men’s lightweight category. Tae-Hun Kim of Team Korea took home gold and USD70,000 at the Wuxi 2017 WT Grand Slam Champions Series.
In the men’s –58kg, The skinny and long-legged fighter claimed an overwhelming victory at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center in Wuxi, China on January 20(local time).

Kim produced great defeats, beating Ebrahim Safari Soumeeh of Iran in the quarter-finals, and the greatest roundhouse kicker beat Mikhail Artamonov from Russia who is silver medalist at the 2017 Muju World Taekwondo Championships with his persistent attacks to the body, 9-4 to kim.
The final Kim beat against his relatively compatriot Jun Jang, a high school student.
Kim started to grab points, landing his right kicks to the left side of Jang. In the second, Jang got five points, landing his spin kick to Kim's head, but Kim also scored more points with a face attack and kept the lead.
In the third, Kim secured his lead. Jang tried to attack Kim with his spin kicks, but Kim extended his lead to 21-7 with right kicks and experienced skills.
In the fourth and fifth, Kim continued to attack Jang with the right kicks. Despite Jang scored consecutive points in the beginning of the final round, it was not enough to narrow the gap.
Kim finally won gold with a 37-16 victory in the men’s –58kg. Kim claimed the tournament’s USD70,000prize and Jang took USD20,000prize.
Artamonov won his last match to claimed bronze, beating 2016 World Taekwondo Championships gold medalist Ruidong Wu of China, in the men’s-58kg.

In the women’s -57kg, Irem Yaman, who stepped down her weight, claimed a victory while Jade Jones of Great Britain, Ah-Reum Lee of Korea and Hatice Ilgun of Turkey were eliminated in the early stages of the competition.
Yaman advanced to the final, beating Jade Jones by a golden point in the quarter-finals and China’s Zongshi Luo in the semi-final, 24-6.
In the final, Yaman defeated 2016 World Taekwondo Championships gold medalist Lijun Zhou of China, after a tense match which was decided by a golden point.
The women’s –57kg silver went to Zongshi Luo of China, beating Korea’s Ah-Reum Lee, 33-10 to the Chinese.
The World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships will be held in Wuxi on January 27.
In the men team competition was made up Iran, Russia, Korea and China teams. And China and Korea will compete in the women team competition and in the mix gender team’s China and Russia will fight in Wuxi.
